JMP Engineering joins Mazak Canada at Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show
Released September 13th, 2013
London, ON – At the upcoming Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS), Mazak Canada, a global leader in the machine tool industry, is bringing the classroom experience to life. And JMP Engineering’s Automation Division is using robotics to help them do it.
Inside Mazak’s impressive 4400 square foot booth, robots – including one supplied and programmed by JMP Engineering – will be paired with a Mazak Machine Tool and Renishaw Equator, machining and inspecting parts throughout the show. It’s a real-time experiment in discovering what is possible with automation in the machine tool landscape.
Mazak Canada General Manager, Ray Buxton, is enthusiastic about the JMP-Mazak partnership. “The biggest benefit for anyone attending is seeing automation operating real-time with machining. It will give you the chance to see the key benefits and pitfalls without the sales pitch,” he said.
“We have many synergies working with JMP but the experience they have with automation and integration is key to our customers in Canada. Having local automation folks close to the customers is essential.”
JMP’s Director of Automation, Ken McLaughlin, will be conducting a seminar on how you can increase capacity out of the machines you already have through the use of automation. The session takes place on Thursday, October 3rd at noon, in the lunch-and-learn format, within Mazak’s self-contained classroom environment. In addition to practical theory, an application demonstration will be highlighted in which participants can get up close and personal with the working robotics display. Pre-registration is required and can be accomplished via the CMTS website (www.cmts.ca), or at the reception desk when entering the Mazak booth.
“Mazak provides a world-class customer experience. Their machines and quality of service is second to none. We are elated to be partnered with them and a part of CMTS,” said Ken.
